Carbamide

Carbamide is a natural vegetable moisture factor.  It is part of the NFF complex which we use in our products to add extra moisture.  NFF is a combination of extract of blue asparagus, carbamide, natrium phosphate and soya protein.

Cedar Tree

Used in ancient Egypt in cosmetics and perfume, and symbolised fertility.  Effective as an antiseptic, in firming the skin, and in regulating the production of tallow.  Particularly suited to oily skin and dandruff, acne, cuts, and athletes foot.  Increases hair growth.  It is anti-depressive, aphrodisiac and refreshing.

Centella Asiatica

Common everywhere in India, particularly in swampy areas.  It has small leaves and small pink flowers.  It strengthens and calms the nervous system, and promotes the growth of new tissue.  Has a healing effect on body tissue and skin.

Curcuma longa

Also known as turmeric which comes from SE Asia but which is also grown in China, India and the Caribbean. Effective as an antioxidant. It prevents inflammation and is good for skin problems and psoriasis.

Cypress

Cypress was regarded as holy by the ancient Egyptians and Romans.  It is still used as incense by the Tibetans.  It has an extremely calming effect.  The smell is of fresh fir tree, sweet and citrus. Good for blood circulation, cellulite and varicose veins.  Promotes communication in relationships and relieves stress.

Cocoa Butter
Is extracted from cocoa beans and is nutritious for your skin and lips, softening and protecting them.

Camphor Oil
Essential oil which comes from the camphor tree.  Camphor oil stimulates the circulation and is antiseptic.  A very warming and stimulating oil for the skin.

Camomile
This pleasantly scented plant grows throughout most of Europe.  Camomile is used both externally and internally with a mild and soothing effect. Camomile is beneficial against skin irritation, redness and itching, as camomile in creams and oils has a relaxing and cleansing effect.  In addition, camomile is a natural bleach for blond hair.  Camomile brings harmony and peace.

Cinnamon
Cinnamon oil was used in the temples of Ancient Greece.  It was used in wine, as an anæsthetic and as a drink of love.  It is particularly antiseptic and is good against infection in the skin.  Relieves mental fatigue and exhaustion.

Cardamom

Cardamom has been used for 3000 years by the Chinese in connection with medicine.  It relieves tiredness, calms the nerves and recreates a joy for life.  When we feel down, cardamom can renew our awareness of the abundance of life.

Carnelian 
Carnelian promotes happiness, creativity and optimism.

Carotene

Carotene is a precursor of Vitamin A and is converted to the same in the skin.  It is extracted from carrots and mixed with almond oil and is most caring for dry and tired skin.

Coconut Oil 
Coconut oil comes from dried coconut and shell.  Coconut oil is a rich oil which is good for babies and delicate skin.  Coconut oil is sweet and soothing.  The name “coco” comes from Spanish and means “smiling face”, which refers to the eyes or pores of the coconut.

Comfrey
Comfrey is a plant that thrives in rich and moist earth in Europe. The leaves are used as an extract in both day and night creams. Comfrey is protective and healing of sores (contains the very slimy substance Allatoin which is regenerative), good for sores, bruises, burns, itchy skin, eczema, and psoriasis.  Comfrey is also good for sprains and strained tendons. Comfrey is regenerative and stimulating for dry, wrinkled and aging skin.

Clay
Clay is one of the oldest raw ingredients of cosmetics and is still used by primitive people the world over because of its soothing and cleansing properties.  Our clay comes from France and all 4 types contain many kinds of minerals such as silicon (stimulates and regenerates), magnesium, calcium (stimulates cell renewal), potassium, manganese (in green and red clay) sodium (help to protect the skin’s elasticity – is not found in red clay). Instead of thinning it with ordinary water, the following are excellent for the job: camomile, green and red tea, and rosewater.
